Highway 17 traffic slowdown marks Human Trafficking Awareness Day

Garden River First Nation and Batchewana First Nation will hold a rally today at the intersection of Highway 17 and Highway 17B to mark the occasion of Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Motorists should expect traffic delays in this area.

Information released by the Ontario Provincial Police follows:

Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), would like to inform the motoring public of a traffic slowdown scheduled for Feb. 22, 2018.

The traffic slowdown will occur near the east end of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario at the intersection of Highway 17 and Highway 17B between the hours of 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The OPP will be on scene with assistance of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and the Anishinabek Police Service to ensure the safe passage of the travelling public.
