Highway 17 open again. Police say 10 taken to hospital following serious morning crash

Four vehicle crash left the highway closed since 9:30 a.m.

A crash involving multiple vehicles this morning saw 10 people taken to hospital, some with life-threatening injuries.

In a release issued this afternoon, police say four vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred on Highway 17 in the north end of the city and saw fire and emergency services called at approximately 9:30 a.m.

A witness told SooToday that one of the vehicles was a commercial box truck.

While the investigation remains ongoing, traffic is now moving normally in both directions.
