Hiawatha Highlands, is pleased to announce that limited trails are now open for skiing.

“With the early snowfall this season, our groomers have been able to lay down tracks on some of the trail systems,” says Joanna MacDougall, president of the organization. “We have a busy season lined-up with special events and with our trail system for all levels of fitness and activities, we are anticipating an excellent winter.”

Cross-Country Skiers, both classic and skate skiers are welcome to come up and start the season. Our groomers will post up-to-date trail conditions daily on the web site here.

The Hiawatha Highlands trail system, during winter months, is only open to current trail pass holders. While Hiawatha Highlands is a wonderful destination for the public in the spring, summer and fall; in the Winter, Hiawatha Highlands is covered under land use agreements for trail pass holders only. We ask that those restrictions are respected.

The trails are rented for paying cross country ski, snowshoe and fat bike customers from November to April. Fees collected from these customers are used to help maintain the trail systems throughout the year. We want to remind everyone that walking on the trails during the winter not only destroys the tracks, but is dangerous. Foot and dog traffic damage on the groomed trails can cause serious injuries to customers of all ages and abilities, including the elderly, recreational skiers and elite athletes.

Those who have purchased their trail pass on-line, can have their passes processed at the on-site office on the weekends from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The rest of the week, the office will be open 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and open till 7 p.m. on Wednesday evenings. Once we get more snow and more trails open, we will adjust our hours.
Early-bird prices are in affect until Nov. 30, 2018. Buy them on-line here.
