Former Sault MP Bryan Hayes has been selected as chair of the Queenstown Business Improvement Association.

Hayes, a licensed real estate agent at the Sutton Group, was appointed to the new position at a meeting last night of the organization, formerly known as the Downtown Association.

Paul Scornaienchi will continue as vice-chair.

Frank Gaccione is re-appointed as secretary/treasurer.

Grace Tridico will be recording secretary.

This year's Moonlight Magic will be on Thursday, November 17 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

All will be bright at the 7 p.m. tree lighting on the court house lawn, because the City of Sault Ste. Marie is donating $10,000 worth of lights and services in the first BIA-municipality partnership of its kind.

Nine downtown businesses are expected to participate in a hot chocolate competition and organizers are trying to arrange golf carts for those needing street transportation.
