10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voting from Home

If there are barriers preventing you from voting at an Advance Vote day or on Voting Day (Oct. 22), you may apply for a home visit to cast your ballot. To apply complete the Home Visit Voter Application here or call the City Clerk’s Department at 705-759-5388 to register. Voters must pre-register by Oct. 11. The Voting from Home program will occur during the week of Oct. 15.

Curbside Voting

For those voters unable to go inside the voting place without unreasonable difficulty, we offer curbside voting. An election official will bring a ballot box to your vehicle.

Proxy Voting

If you will be unable to get to a voting place to cast your ballot on Oct. 22, 2018, or on any of the Advance Vote days, you may wish to appoint a proxy. A proxy is someone that can go to the voting place and cast a ballot on your behalf. This person must be an eligible elector and should be someone you trust to mark the ballot the way you have instructed them to. You and the person you want to appoint must complete an Appointment for Voting Proxy Form – Form 3 (English Form / French Form) and return it to the Clerks’ office to be sworn.

Voting on Election Day

On Voting Day, Oct. 22, electors will vote at their assigned voting location. Voters will receive a Voter Information Card indicating where to vote. Alternatively, electors can find their voting location here under ‘Voter Services’.

Voters are encouraged to visit saultstemarie.ca/election for general information. Voters are required to show identification with your name and address for all voting options.
