This year's Stuff-a-Bus campaign appears to have broken all previous records.

The annual drive ended with last night's popular Teddy Toss at the Sault Greyhounds home game against Guelph Storm.

The following is a news release issued this morning by the Stuff-a-Bus campaign.

************************ The Christmas gift-gathering campaign known as Stuff-a-Bus is complete for another year and organizers say it looks like the best year ever with one City bus completely stuffed and another bus needed to contain the overflow.

Last night’s Memorial Gardens stop was the best of the campaign’s six years with toys and canned goods brought to the bus before the Greyhound game, and then a record number of stuffed toys were collected during the annual Teddy Bear Toss that occurs when the Greyhounds score their first goal of the game.

Organizers say the toss resulted in a 'ton of bears and then some!' as two half-ton trucks went out on the ice and were filled to overflowing capacity requiring the remaining toys to be stuffed into the trucks' cabs.

Prior to the game, the Beach family of North Street set the record this year for a single family contribution arriving with a half-ton truck full of toys and, the Queen Street West business called The Store donated a vehicle full of canned goods and other food items.

Stuff a Bus makes its final stop Tuesday November 30 at the Christmas Cheer depot (Nick Trbovich Centre, 550 Second Line East) to unload at 10:30 a.m.
