ART GALLERY OF ALGOMA

************************* It is with sadness the we inform you of the passing of Haydn Llewellyn Davies.

Haydn Llewellyn Davies [shown with Michael Burtch, curator/ director of the Art Gallery of Algoma, during a 2004 visit] was born November 11, 1921, in Rhymney, Wales.

He died in Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto on March 24, 2008, of complications relating to liver and lung cancer.

He was 86.

He is survived by Eva, his wife of 60 years, sons Bryan and Trevor, several grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Haydn's sculpture "Algoma Blue" was unveiled in the Elsie Savoie Sculpture Park, adjacent to the Art Gallery of Algoma late summer 2004.

An exhibition of scale-model sculptures in bronze and steel were on display July 29 to September 26, 2004.
