Video shows gunpoint robbery at Wellington West Mac's

Officers with the Investigation Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a robbery that took place early this morning.

At 2:15 a.m., two unknown males entered the Mac’s Convenience store located on Wellington Street West.  At the time both males were dressed in black with their faces covered.  One male was holding a black handgun while the other was holding a large knife.

The handgun and knife were pointed at the clerk and the males demanded that the victim hand over cash from the till.  Once an amount of cash was turned over, the males fled the scene westbound on Henrietta Avenue.  Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police attended and assisted in the search for the two suspects.

At this time officers are continuing this investigation.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
