Great weather and turnout at this year's Rotaryfest parade (40 photos)

Parade entry prize winners are announced below

The 2017 Rotaryfest Parade rolled down Queen Street today.

This year there were 50 parade entries and the theme was ‘Canada 150: North Strong Free’.

“We were concerned about the weather at first but the parade gods were kind and it was a beautiful day,” said parade marshal David Marshall.

Marshall guess upwards of 20,000 people attended.

The 2017 float award winners are as follows.

 

Winston Piper Memorial Grand Prize: Ontario Finnish Resthome Assocation

Professional Float, First Place: City of Sault Ste. Marie

Professional Float, Second Place: Highland Ford ‘Happy Birthday Canada’

Non-Professional Float, First Place: Scouts Canada

Non-Professional Float, Second Place: Autism Ontario

Best Theme, First Place: United Way Sault Ste. Marie

Best Theme, Second Place: Canadian Bushplane Heritage

Best Environmentally-Friendly Transportation: Sault Sailing Club
