8:45 a.m. update:
Gray Latvanen has been charged with three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, one count of robbery using a firearm, one count of break and enter, one count of wear a disguise with intent, two counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon, one count of possession of controlled or substance for the purpose of trafficking and four counts of possession of controlled drug or substance.
The search warrant at the residence resulted in brass knuckles and a homemade double sided knife/sword weapon, both of which are prohibited weapons.
In addition 21 grams of cocaine, nine grams of marijuana, three grams of marijuana resin as well as codeine and ecstasy tablets were seized with an estimated street value of $2,385.
While committing the robbery Latvanen is said to have been holding a firearm and wearing a disguise.
At the time of the offence Latvanen was on a mandatory weapon prohibition order.
He was arrested outside his residence at 5:41 p.m. without incident by members of the Emergency Services Unit and Investigative Services.
There were no injuries reported and this is not deemed to be a random act as the victim and accused are known to each other.
In the evening hours a search warrant was executed at the Latvanen residence which turned up two prohibited weapons and a quantity of drugs.
Mr. Latvanen will appear in bail court this morning facing eight Criminal Code charges and five charges under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act.
