Gerry Taylor, former president and chief executive officer of the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre, left the centre's employ today.
As SooToday.com reported earlier in the day, Taylor's positions were declared redundant last week and most of his responsibilities were turned over to business manager David Williamson.
Taylor (shown) was offered work in the centre's GIS sales department. He remained on the Innovation Centre payroll in that capacity until today, when he indicated that he was not accepting the sales position. Taylor is now negotiating with the Innovation Centre's board, Williamson told SooToday News tonight.
The board of directors of the troubled centre has allocated up to $25,000 for a third-party review of its governance, management, finance, programs and organizational direction.
The deadline for applications from interested consultants was Monday, and the contract is to be awarded by this Friday, with a final report due by April 21.
The consultant will be expected to conduct interviews with management and the board of directors, and to review policies and procedures, contracts, projects and business plans.
The final report will be submitted to a Third Party Review Steering Committee made up of representatives from the Innovation Centre, the City of Sault Ste. Marie and FedNor.
