Metal rockers Garden of Bedlam were selected early Thursday to open for KISS at the hottest band in the world's December 15 Essar Centre gig.

Garden of Bedlam won in a fierce battle of the bands Wednesday night at the Canadian Night Club against nine other groups: Sense of Truth, Nixxon Dixxon, Lion Ride, Wishbone, G'sis Murphy, Stifler's Mom, Nebraska Arms, Flat Stanley and Blues Harvest.

Bedlam will get a 30-minute opening spot for KISS, 10 free tickets and a band photo taken with KISS.

Runner-up Lion Ride will perform if for any reason Garden of Bedlam is unable to fulfill its obligations.

Rock 101 radio personality and event emcee Mark San Angelo commented that there was only one point between the winner and the runner-up.

Garden of Bedlam consists of Buzz Ineau [shown] on vocals; Josh Belleau on lead guitar; bass player Evan Belleau and Derek Turner, drums.

Full SooToday.com coverage will be posted sometime tomorrow.
