Deanna Clark picked up her diploma today from Sault College President Dr. Ron Common, after graduating with distinction from the college's hospitality management - hotel and resort program.

Clark is one of 847 graduates crossing the stage during morning and afternoon convocation ceremonies at the Essar Centre today.

Linda Franklin, president and CEO of Colleges Ontario, made the keynote address.

Academic deans, chairs and members of the board of governors joined Dr. Common and Leo Tiberi, vice president academic, in conferring certificates, diplomas and degrees upon graduating students.

This year’s convocation includes 24 graduates of the aircraft structural repair program which was delivered in London, Ontario for the first time in partnership with Fanshawe College.

Attending afternoon ceremonies are representatives from the Laurentian University School of Nursing who will see 32 students receive collaborative baccalaureate nursing degrees.

The proceedings will also recognize 78 personal support workers, some of whom completed their program through distance education in remote parts of Northern Ontario.

The Anishinaabemowin Immersion program will grant nine diplomas to students who completed studies on Manitoulin Island.
