Hundreds of stuffed bears, dogs and other toys were thrown to the Memorial Gardens ice tonight after Jeff Doyle scored the only Soo Greyhounds goal of the night against Windsor Spitfires.

The popular Teddy Bear Toss was part of the Fourth Annual Stuff A Bus Campaign for Christmas Cheer.

The toys were collected and immediately stuffed into the Q104/COPS Marketing/Sault Transit bus that's travelling the city this month in search of non-perishable food items and new or slightly used, unwrapped toys.

SooToday photo essay

At tonight's game, SooToday took photographs of Hounds fans of all ages cuddling their favourite stuffed creatures.

We captured famous Saultites such as Bill Ansley, Conner Sonke, Heather Wooley and Rita McGonegal, as well as lesser-known folk including Tracey Gard and Rob Prouse.

Got toys?

Last year in the Sault area, more than 4,500 people benefited from Christmas Cheer through the efforts of programs like the Stuff-a-Bus campaign.

If you have food items or toys to donate, the Q104/COPS Marketing/Sault Transit Stuff-a-Bus will be at the John Rhodes Centre on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Throughout November, donations can be dropped off on all regular bus routes for added convenience.

Other upcoming Stuff-a-Bus appearances:

- November 23, 9 - 11 a.m., Galaxy Cinemas - November 29, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., Canadian Tire - November 30, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Zellers (Northern Ave.)
