Andrew Hatton of Bawating Collegiate and Vocational School demonstrated fine form this afternoon as he threw 44.62 metres in the boys senior javelin event at the Sault City Track and Field Championships.
That was good for third place in the event, which was won by Frank Weise of Sir James Dunn with a throw of 47.74 metres.
There was one record set at today's meet.
Dan Kennedy tossed a meet-record 43.94 metres in the boys senior discus throw.
The 18-year-old earned two other gold medals today.
He threw 14.84 metres in the senior shot put and ran a blistering leg as part of the Dunn's first-place 4x100 relay team.
Kennedy tells SooToday.com he's hoping to medal at OFSAA this year in the shot put.
