Special weather statement in effect for: Wawa - White River - Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay - Chapleau - Missinaibi Lake - Timmins - Cochrane

Snow, ice pellets and freezing rain possible later today and tonight.

A low pressure system will pass through Central Ontario today and tonight and spread precipitation into portions of Northern Ontario.

The precipitation is expected to begin as rain over most regions today, but may transition to a wintery mix of snow and ice pellets with a risk of freezing rain later today or this evening.

Current indications suggest that only a few centimetres of snow and ice pellets may fall, but locally hazardous travelling conditions may result.

The precipitation will taper off on Friday.
