NEWS RELEASE

PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION

*************************
PUC would like to advise customers of an alert it has received from the Ontario Energy Board (OEB).

There have been reports of consumers receiving emails that are purportedly sent on behalf of the OEB.

These fraudulent emails suggest that the recipients have unpaid bills from the OEB.

This is FALSE; the OEB does not bill consumers directly.

Anyone receiving such an email is asked to contact OEB’s Consumer Relations Centre at www.ontarioenergyboard.ca/OEB/Consumers/Contact+Consumer+Relations.
