Jamie Hilsinger has been chosen as new executive director at Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre.

The appointment of the former marketing manager at The Water Tower Inn was announced at a Thursday-afternoon meeting of the Tourism Sault Ste. Marie board of directors by museum chair Richard Walker.

Hilsinger will start work Monday in her new position, Walker said.

She teaches at Sault College with areas of expertise including use of digital marketing, augmented reality and virtual reality in the hospitality industry.

Hilsinger's LinkedIn profile shows she's no stranger to the aviation industry, having managed onboard cabin crews of up to 15 staff as an in-charge flight attendant at Air Canada.

"I’m really honoured to have been selected for this role," she tells SooToday.

"I’m looking forward to working with the Bushplane team and to help drive ahead the great ideas and plans of the staff and board."

"I feel like the Canadian Heritage Bushplane Centre is stepping towards a very exciting future."
