Batchewana First Nation has announced it's evicting and cutting off all business relations with Dave Selvers and his company, Millennium Crane Rentals.

In a news release issued late Friday afternoon, the First Nation directly linked the decision to Selver's social media and blog posts about "women, native Americans, Muslims and LGBTQ persons."

Millennium Crane Rentals is located at 491 Gran St. on Rankin Reserve.

"The leadership of BFN vehemently oppose the views expressed by Mr. Selvers and are taking appropriate measures to sever all business relations with him and his company, Millennium Crane," the release said.

“This type of language is not only controversial and offensive but it is a danger that threatens the safety of our community. Our office has been inundated with concerns from our citizens who are fearful of having this... man operating his business in their backyard” said Chief Dean Sayers.

“What’s most concerning is that Mr. Selvers makes no apologies and takes no responsibility for his hurtful actions. It is clear that this unacceptable behavior will continue and we simply can not condone that” said Batchewana  councillor Gary Roach.

Sault College, the City of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma Steel have all cut ties with Selvers and Millennium since his blog posts were highlighted on Feb. 17 on the website of the Canadian Anti-Hate Network.
