Fireworks extravaganza moved to Topsail Island

Next week, Sault Ste. Marie is hosting the 2017 Festivals & Events Ontario conference. At sundown during opening night on Wednesday, Mar. 1, the public fireworks display has been moved to Topsail Island at Bellevue Park. Citizens can watch the show along the waterfront at or near the park.

The public has another opportunity to take part in the three-day celebration. On Thursday, Mar. 2, citizens are invited to attend a festivals and events marketplace at the Machine Shop from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

With free appetizers and desserts being served, attendees will have an opportunity to learn from and meet with festivals and events leaders from across the province. Registration is not required. The marketplace is being sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Sault Ste. Marie.

Tourism Sault Ste. Marie, which works to attract events and visitors to the community, partnered with Tourism Northern Ontario and Festivals & Events Ontario to host the 2017 conference.

The forum is taking place Mar. 1 to 3. Quattro Hotel & Conference Centre is the main venue. For more information, visit www.feo2017.com.
