Fire in Northern Avenue apartment closes road (4 photos)

People are being asked to stay away from the area of the apartment fire, next to the PeeWee Arena

Northern Avenue is closed to all traffic between North Street and the Pee Wee Arena as a fire burns at an apartment building in the 200 block of Northern Avenue.

Police, fire and EMS are on the scene, reports SooToday's Donna Hopper.

Smoke was seen coming from the building located adjacent to the Pee Wee Arena. 

Reports indicate the call to Fire Services came in around 8:45 p.m. and, at that time, flames were seen shooting from second floor windows east side of the building.
