Fatal accident victim identified

Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has released the names of the drivers involved in a fatal accident at the corner of Black Road and McNabb Street at 10:30 a.m. yesterday. The deceased is identified as 49-year-old Adelio Equizi of Sault Ste. Marie.

The deceased is identified as 49-year-old Adelio Equizi of Sault Ste. Marie.

Equizi was the driver of a 1993 Dodge Dakota truck westbound on McNabb Street.

The driver of the 2003 Kenworth tractor unit was 27-year-old Christopher Alton, also of the Sault, who was northbound on Black Road.

Damages to the pick-up are severe and moderate to the tractor unit.

A post-mortem is to be conducted today in the Sault.

Both vehicles have been taken to the Northern Regional Forensic Lab in the Sault for forensic examination.

Police are looking for witnesses to the accident.
