WEATHER ALERT
ENVIRONMENT CANADA
***************************
Weather advisory in effect for:

  • Agawa - Lake Superior Park
  • Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay

Winter weather travel advisory for tonight and Monday morning.

Hazard:
Local snowfall amounts of 7 to 15 cm by Monday morning.
Snow, heavy at times, could significantly reduce visibility.

Timing:
Tonight into Monday morning.

Discussion:
Lake-effect snow is expected tonight off of Lake Superior and continue into Monday morning. Isolated and more intense snow squalls may be embedded within a larger swath of lake effect snow.

This lake-effect snow is expected to impact the area for the remainder of the week with brief breaks. Areas that will be affected will be determined by the wind direction off of Lake Superior.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
