WEATHER ADVISORY

ENVIRONMENT CANADA

Weather advisory in effect for:

  • Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island
  • Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay

Winter weather travel advisory in effect this afternoon and tonight.

Lake effect snow bands will affect regions near Eastern Lake Superior tonight, with plenty of flurries and perhaps a brief snow squall.

Local snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are likely. Strong and gusty northwesterly winds will whip up the freshly fallen snow and result in occasional very low visibility in blowing snow.

Hazardous winter driving conditions are expected. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.

The lake effect snow bands will weaken and drift to the north of the region later tonight.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports to #ONStorm.
