Emergency crews responding to residential fire on Tancred Street

Sault Ste. Marie Fire and Sault Ste. Marie Police Services responded to a report of a residential fire in the 100 block of Tancred Street shortly after 8:30 p.m.

Smoke was seen coming from the top window of the house.

Traffic is blocked on Tancred Street between Albert Street East and Wellington Street East; Albert Street East is also blocked near Tancred Street as the fire crews hooked up the hose line to a hydrant on Albert, stretching to the house on Tancred.

Traffic on Albert Street East is being redirected to Abbot Street due to the hose line.

The cause of fire is currently unknown.

No injuries have been reported.
