Kenny Moore has won $104,787.50 in the Sault Area Hospital Foundation 50/50 draw for January.

They had a little trouble getting ahold of him initially, but it was worth it in the end.

Kenneth 'Kenny' Moore of Cobalt, Ont. has won $104,787.50 in January's Sault Area Hospital 50/50 draw.

Moore was in the midst of a 12-hour work shift when SAH tried to give in the good news at first.

He eventually found out thanks to an email he received after his shift.

"No way. You can't believe how happy I am! This is great news," Moore's reply to the good-news email said.

While he doesn't have a direct connection to the Sault, Moore said he has fond memories of the city from when he played hockey.

Moore has some property he has been dreaming of building a cottage on. What was a five-year plan for it might be bumped up a little bit thanks to the win.

“It was looking like a five-year plan, but with this I might be able to start construction this summer," Moore said.

Other winners in January include Richard Quesnele of the Sault, who won a $15.000 early bird prize.
