Early morning fire rips through garage on Gladstone Avenue

Extensive damage could be seen on the structure as fire was extinguished

An early morning garage fire just off Bruce Street sent dark black clouds of smoke into the Sault Ste. Marie sky Thursday.

Firefighters responded to the fire on the 100-block of Gladstone Avenue at about 7:15 a.m., knocking it down quickly from two sides with hoses from Gladstone, as well as from the alley behind the property.

Extensive damage could be seen on the structure as the fire was extinguished.
