DNA sampling identifies fire victim

Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed the identity of a man who died last December in a fire in Northshore Township near Blind River. The OPP's East Algoma detachment said this afternoon that the victim was 55-year-old Francis Xavier Talbot.

Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed the identity of a man who died last December in a fire in Northshore Township near Blind River.

The OPP's East Algoma detachment said this afternoon that the victim was 55-year-old Francis Xavier Talbot.

Talbot was identified using DNA sampling.

The exact cause of the fire has not been determined by police.

Talbot lived in the building destroyed in the fire.
