CITY POLICE NEWS RELEASE

************************** On Tuesday the 24th of August the City Police along with Rome's Independent Grocer and the Sault Ste Marie Safe Communities Partnership held a bike rodeo-bike registration in the parking lot at Rome's.

Kellogg’s and Rome’s donated a Raleigh’s Matterhorn bike for the event.

12-year-old Daniel Pszeniczny was the lucky winner of the bike, as well as a helmet that had been donated by Kids Safe Algoma and the Youth Sub Committee, both of whom are part of the Safe Communities Partnership.

Nurses from the Algoma Health Unit had also been on hand and fitted Daniel’s helmet properly for him before he rode off on his new bike.

It was nice to see Daniel win the bike as his own bike had been stolen earlier this year and he had borrowed a friend’s bike to participate in the event.

Thanks to all of those who participated in the bike rodeo this year.

Shown in the photo are Daniel Pszeniczny with Sgt. Jane Martynuck, Constable Armando Tempesta and in the background, Kelly Rome.
