A man wanted in Alberta for second-degree murder was arrested yesterday at Maple Leaf Motors on Great Northern Road after the licence plate on his truck tipped police that he was being sought on a Canada-wide warrant.

Christopher Cyril Desilets, 34, was wanted by RCMP in Bonnyville, Alberta for a murder that took place there on September 16.

Desilets was travelling from Western Canada through Sault Ste. Marie, City police said.

He's being held in custody pending his return to Alberta.

The body of 22-year-old Jocylyn Wood was found on September 18 outside Bonnyville, about 240 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.

Wood was known to be a frequent and longtime drug user.

Bonnyville residents say she scammed people to feed her habit.

Wood had one son who lives with his father. "We don't believe it was related specifically to drugs," Bonnyville RCMP Cpl. Duncan MacInnis told the Edmonton Sun.

"But a number of people said it was about drugs, theft, personal things, so we haven't really been able to pin (the motive) down."

On Monday, Bonnyville RCMP charged 31-year-old Charles Sabean, of Bonnyville with second-degree murder in the same case.

A police advisory regarding Desilets warned that he should be considered armed and dangerous and advised against approaching him.

He was believed to be driving a 1993 blue-and-silver Chevrolet pickup with extended cab and Alberta licence plate VXM 594.
