Do you care about reducing crime in Sault Ste. Marie?

There are a couple of ways that you can asisst local law enforcement in the fight against crime.

In light of January being Crime Stoppers month – a time when the world promotes, shares and celebrates the success of Crime Stoppers programs – Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie wants to remind you of its services and encourages you to report information on criminal activity. Even if you aren't sure if what you saw or heard is a crime, call the anonymous telephone line at 705-942-7867 or 1-800-222-8477 or submit a tip here

But there are other ways to make a difference. Crime Stoppers is looking for dedicated community members to join its board of directors.

Crime Stoppers has helped police solve cases of homicide, robbery, break and enter, drugs, mischiefs and more. But none of that would be possible without the contributors within the community who dedicate their time and effort to the cause. Since inception, Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District is repsonsible for 4,361 arrests, 2,614 cases cleared, $450,571 in rewards paid, $3,805,792 in property recovered, and $7,102,093 in drugs seized.
