A two-vehicle collision caused a temporary closure of the intersection of Gore Street at Albert Street this afternoon.

Sgt. Ray Magnan of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service said there were no injuries in the collision.

Magnan said a woman driving a red car was driving eastbound on Albert Street and did come to a stop at the stop sign, but then is alleged to have proceeded into the intersection, striking the second vehicle, which was driving north on Gore Street.

"The driver of the red car was charged with failure to yield," said Magnan.

Traffic lights at Gore Street and Albert Street were recently removed, replaced with a stop sign on Albert, while through traffic is now allowed on Gore.

The red car was towed from the scene, while the second vehicle was able to be driven away under its own power.

The collision occurred about 12:30 p.m. and the scene was cleared within about an hour.
