An 1812 cannon replica will arrive at the Ermatinger·Clergue National Historic Site on Wednesday, April 30.

The working replica, to be housed in the 1812 Gallery in the new Heritage Discovery Centre, will be used for re-enactments and special events.

The manufacturer delivering the cannon, along with a re-enactment group, will demonstrate its use and care starting at 4 p.m., April 30.

Nearby businesses and residents can expect to hear a loud noise approximately 3 times between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. as a result of the cannon firing.

The 1812 cannon replica is one of many exhibits soon to be on display in the Heritage Discovery Centre, scheduled to open this summer.

The cannon will also be fired at the official grand opening of the Heritage Discovery Centre on July 17, 2014.
