Faculty and students with Lake Superior State University's School of Engineering and Technology eye their latest tool for learning and innovation.

This new CoroBot will accelerate mobile research at LSSU.

It incorporates vision and sensory information to create a map that lets it navigate and interact in real-time with its environment.

Several mobile robots can "swarm" to collaborate on a task.

LSSU students will develop software and hardware for this CoroBot to discover new ways of utilizing mobile robotics.

From the left are Prof. Andrew Jones, coordinator for the computer and electrical engineering department; Apurv Shanker, a junior from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, studying computer engineering; Jonathon Kelsey, a junior from Gaines, Michigan, in manufacturing engineering technology; and Paul Fedirko, a junior from Linden, Michigan, studying electrical engineering technology.

Run a web search on LSSU engineering for more details.
