OTTAWA – Today the Government of Canada begins consultations on further potential changes to the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA), which deals specifically with trade remedy modernization.

“Our government has already introduced specific legislative amendments which strengthen the Government of Canada’s response to unfair trade and now we are opening the conversation to stakeholders," stated Sheehan.

This is a chance for companies like Essar Steel Algoma, Tenaris Algoma Tubes and other important industries to tell us what they feel will be most effective to continue combatting unfair trade practices.”
