Colonial-era historical reenactors battle in Sault Michigan (14 photos, video)

Rendezvous in the Sault took place in Sault Michigan this weekend

Colonial-era historical reeanctors from across the north midwestern United States came to Sault Ste. Marie, Mi this weekend for the fifth annual history festival Rendezvous in the Sault, held at the ground surrounding city hall.

Participants spent the weekend in full-blown colonial era attire which included people dressed as French and British soldiers, colonial homekeepers, First Nations, Coureur Des Bois, and others.

These historic reenactors gave various demonstrations on things like cannons, rifles, butter churning, weaving, blacksmithing, and more.

The biggest spectacle of the weekend were battle reenactments that took place across the street in Brady Park.

Another highlight was Canadian storyteller Genot 'Winter Elk' Picor who was an endless reservoir of anecdotes and trivia of the time which he weaved into his interactive story and history lessons.
