As a final gesture to Gerry McGuire, Sault College has re-named its student centre after the retiring president.

McGuire (shown) was visibly moved when college officials surprised him at Saturday morning's convocation with a plaque re-naming the facility as the Gerald E. (Gerry) McGuire Student Life Centre.

McGuire fought to get the centre built in 1992. It has been expanded twice since then.

Convocation held at White Pines Collegiate
