NEWS RELEASE

SAULT COLLEGE

***************************
Sault College’s Continuing Education program will offer its popular Food Service Worker Certificate program online through Contact North allowing students from all over Ontario to register and attend classes in their home town.

The new condensed format of the program will begin next month on May 26, and will run for eight weeks, allowing students to conveniently complete the certificate in a short amount of time.

“Offering the Food Service Worker Certificate in a compressed format allows students to gain the necessary skills in a timely fashion,” notes Ted Newbery, Acting Chair of the School of Continuing Education at Sault College. “We are happy to provide multiple choices in start times, shorter cycles of learning and modularized offerings that allow greater flexibility in programs to our students.”

The Food Service Worker Certificate program affords students with the required training to work in long-term care institutions as well as provides the knowledge and skills required to be an effective member of a food service team.

The minimum academic requirements for this program are an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with Grade 12 English (C) ENG4C or mature student status.

If you are interested in learning more, please contact Lori Amendola at 705.759.2554 ext.2598.

Funding support may be available through various programs depending on eligibility.
