The front entrance of the Sault's Civic Centre will soon get an upgrade that will improve public access thanks to $428,423 in funding provided to the City of Sault Ste. Marie by the federal and provincial governments.

A news release issued today by the office of MP Terry Sheehan states that the Government of Canada is providing $343,538 towards the upgrades, and the Government of Ontario is contributing $85,884.

"Throughout the pandemic, the City has continued to prioritize the health and well-being of community members during the provision of municipal services, and this funding will help ensure residents have access to the Civic Centre along with City staff and services,” said Mayor Christian Provenzano in the news release.

The funding is being provided through the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
