City seeks a few good people ready to serve

Sault Ste. Marie City Council is accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on Council boards and committees.

Appointments are for two or four years depending upon the board or committee. Information regarding various committees is available online.

Boards and committees of Council (members appointed by City Council)

The numbers to be appointed are listed in brackets below.

• Christmas Lighting Award Program Judging Committee (4)
• Committee of Adjustment (5)
• Committee of Revision – Local Improvements (3)
• Cultural Advisory Board (5)
• Downtown Business Improvement Area (Downtown Association (1)
• Environmental Monitoring Committee (4)
• Fence Viewers Committee (3)
• Finance Committee (2)
• Historic Sites Board (6)
• Library Board (9)
• Municipal Heritage Committee (5)
• Ontarians with Disabilities Accessibility Advisory Committee (14)
• Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (8)
• Property Standards Committee (3)
• Walk of Fame Selection Committee (2)

Individuals are asked to submit an application form including details outlining relevant experience or expertise.

Application forms are available on the City website or from the City Clerk’s office by emailing [email protected] or phoning 705-759-5388.

Personal information is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act and will be held in strict confidence to be used solely for the purpose stated above.

Applications will be accepted by the City Clerk – Level 4, Civic Centre, until 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2018.
