Residents of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario are reminded that Saturday, Jan. 14 is the last day to drop off your Christmas tree at Clean NorthÂ’'s annual collection depot, located in the Cambrian Mall parking lot.

Over the past 20+ years, Clean North's Christmas tree recycling program has helped keep thousands of trees out of the Sault Ste. Marie landfill.

Also being collected at the depot is white packaging styrofoam, as well as clean towels and blankets for the Humane Society and used books for the Friends of the Library.

Clean North volunteers will be on-site daily in the afternoon, but material can be dropped off at any time during the day.

Tree Chipping takes place Sunday at 8 a.m. and mulch will be available, free by donation, at 9:30 a.m. Anyone wanting mulch should bring their own containers, which Clean North volunteers can help fill and load.
