CF-18 fighter jet spotted in the Sault (1 photo)

It was just getting some gas

On Wednesday morning at around 9:30 a.m. a Royal Canadian Air Force McDonnell Douglas CF-18 Hornet fighter jet was spotted over Point Louise.

RCAF public affairs officer David Lavallee said the aircraft was on its way from Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Bagotville in Quebec to CFB Cold Lake in Alberta and it was just stopping at Sault Ste. Marie airport to refuel.

Lavallee said that's not unusual at all and that CF-18s frequently travel between the two bases and have to make fuel stops because they don't carry enough to make that trip in one shot.
