We’re ringing in Pride Month with free events perfect for all ages (although donations are welcome):

June 1 7 p.m.: Stop by The KLUB (642 Queen St E.) for free Candlelight Yoga led by Cynthia McCutcheon, with live music by Kayla Stafford and Xy Tandoc. Yoga will be suitable for all levels, genders, and abilities, and equipment will be provided.

June 2 6 p.m.: Take part in an all-ages Paint Night at The KLUB, led by Shannon Jondreau. Thanks to sponsor Stone’s Office Supply, this event is also free!

June 3 7 p.m.: Youth are invited to The KLUB for a free Youth Night, hosted by Katrina Francella and Ani Ramos. This event will be just like the Rainbow Klubs held pre-pandemic.

June 4 12 p.m.: Beach & BBQ Day at Point des Chenes! Meet us there, or join our bus from the station mall out to the beach.

June 5 12 p.m.: Join us at the Bondar Pavilion for our free Family Pride Festival, kicking off at noon with Indigenous elder Marly Day and dancers Veronica Miller and Saphira Syrette, followed by music from DJ Dark Mark. We’ll also enjoy a drag show featuring Paris Gore, Gemini Gore, Lucia Pet, Flynn Gore, Zephyr Shadow, Luke Gore, Lana Von Archer and youth performers Franco the Dad, and MaryJane Williams.

We will also have a Talent Show at 2 p.m. for any community members who want to show off their special talents (email us to join).

And at 3 p.m. we will also have children's story time - reading Jessica Kemp's book "Never Too Far Away".

Vendors will be set up, including The Millenial Thrifter, Ash & Cinder, Constance’s Closet, WildMan Wigwaus, Emma Marttinen Art, Fidgal, Grace's Gewelry, MAWI, Yin's Legacies,  CelesteMazinibii'igan, Abby's Offensive Art, Mermaid Celeste, Muel Bags, Desolate Vintage, Science North SSM, Sweet Change Chocolate, Sipology, Lycanthrope Artistic Creations, Steph's Intuitive Art and Cornucopia.

We’ll also have a photo booth by Alyssa Eddy Photography, facepainting by Erica Hill and J9 Design and a kid's obstacle course.

Sign-up links for Yoga, Paint Night, Youth Night and Beach BBQ bus will be posted on our Facebook Event Page "Baawaating Pride 2022" or one can email/call us if interested.

"We are so excited to celebrate in-person with the beautiful and diverse 2SLGBTQ+ community we have here. We hope there is something that everyone can enjoy and we look forward to seeing our offerings being able to expand as we grow as a new non-for-profit."

There is still time to sign up as a vendor for the Family Pride Festival on June 5 (email or message us on social media).

The KLUB is also still seeking sponsors for the bus out to Point des Chenes, food and beverages for the Beach Day and Youth night and honorarium for the drag performers and 2SLGBTQ+ staff working the Family Pride Festival.

If interested in donating/sponsoring/volunteering, please contact Katrina Francella (they/them) at [email protected] or 705 297 2489.

We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
