It is with joy that the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board (HSCDSB) announces Christine Durocher as the new Superintendent of Education, effective Aug. 1, 2019.

Christine was hired by the board in 1997, when she began her career as a teacher at Holy Angels Learning Centre. Durocher went on to teach at two more schools until 2008 when she became Vice-Principal at Our Lady of Lourdes.

Since August 2011, Durocher has served as principal for four different schools, most recently with St. Mary’s French Immersion, in Sault Ste. Marie.

“Christine comes to her new leadership role with a track record of excellence,” said Rose Burton Spohn, Director of Education. “A former primary teacher, learning resource teacher, vice-principal, and principal, Christine has committed herself to the achievement and well-being of the students in our Board for over two decades. With a strong background in curriculum, school leadership, and health and safety, Christine will make an outstanding addition to the board’s senior team,” added Burton Spohn.

"I am very honoured to be given the opportunity to join the Board’s Senior Administration Team,” expressed Christine Durocher.
