A small delegation from the Caribbean island of St. Lucia is visiting the Soo this week to investigate trade possibilities.

Sarah Flood-Beaubrun, St. Lucia's Minister for Home Affairs and Gender Relations (shown at left) is visiting the city, together with Winall Joshua, the island's Canadian consul-general.

The two are travelling with their spouses and will be treated to a snowmobile ride, several Bon Soo events, a tour of the Northern Treatment Centre, and lunch with the Department of Community Economic and Social Development at Algoma University College.

Numerous meetings are also being arranged with local business leaders.

The Soo visit returns a Canadian trade delegation to St. Lucia last November that included David Ellis of David Ellis Architects, Doug Clute of Doug Clute and Associates, Chris Belsito of Algoma University College, Carmella Novella of Travel Masters and Lou Derrer of Lucidia Studios.

St. Lucia's population is roughly twice that of Sault Ste. Marie.
