Algoma University recognizes the importance of networks to helping students navigate meaningful career paths, and is pleased to invite local employers to the Sault Ste. Marie campus on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in EW205 to participate in Career Networking Night.

The evening will begin with a panel of graduates answering questions from students about their school-to-work transitions and professional journeys. The panel discussion will be followed by an opportunity to mix and mingle with students to promote local organizations and share industry tips and insights.

Employers are welcome to attend and can register here or by contacting Danielle Amadio at 705-949-2301 ext. 3164 or via email at [email protected]. Employers are welcome to register as individuals or as a group from their organization.

“Preparing students for life after graduation is something the university can not do in isolation,” shared Career and Experiential Learning Co-Op Coordinator Cindi Elgie. “By taking the time to connect with students to share experiences, employers are helping students build their networks, which is an important tool as they prepare for meaningful careers.”

Participating employers will have a networking table to facilitate discussions with small groups of students. This event is one of several initiatives Algoma University is undertaking to prepare graduates to thrive in diverse careers of the future.

Employers who are unable to attend but wish to build connections with Algoma University students are encouraged to consider joining Ten Thousand Coffees, Algoma University’s electronic networking community.
