Citizen appointments to boards and committees

SAULT STE. MARIE - In December 2012 City Council will make citizen appointments/nominations to the following boards and committees for 2013/2014. 

In brackets are the numbers to be appointed/nominated:

• Algoma Public Health (2)
• Christmas Lighting Award Program Judging Committee (4)
• Community Theatre Centre Management Board (3)
• Committee of Revision - Local Improvements (3)
• Cultural Advisory Board (4)
• Environmental Monitoring Committee (5)
• Fence Viewers Committee (3)
• Historic Sites Board (minimum 6)
• Municipal Heritage Committee (minimum 6)
• Ontarians with Disabilities Accessibility Advisory Committee (maximum 14)
• Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (8)
• Planning Advisory Committee (7)
• Residential Standards Committee (3)
• Sault Ste. Marie Best for Kids Committee (maximum 16)
• Sault Ste Marie Police Services Board (1)
• Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority (1)
• Sault Ste. Marie Walk of Fame Selection Committee (2)

City Council is accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on any of the above boards or committees. 

Individuals are asked to submit a letter outlining their background and interest in the board or committee. 

Anyone wishing to be considered for more than one board or committee must submit a separate letter for each one. 

Appointments/nominations are for two years (2013/14). 

Personal information is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act and will be held in strict confidence to be used solely for the purpose stated above. 

Letters of application will be received by the City Clerk until 4:30 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2012.
