Canine track to motel results in two arrests

City police arrested two males from Hamilton, Ontario in the early morning of February 8.

Investigation revealed that the two were involved in breaking into a business in the Industrial Park area.

They were allegedly stealing copper pipe and were confronted in another parking lot in the Industrial Park area where a witness blocked the driveway with his tractor preventing them from exiting the lot.

The two accused were able to leave but ended up in a snow bank in the Great Northern Road/Northern Avenue area.

The two accused fled the area and were later located after a canine track to a nearby motel.

A search warrant was executed by detectives later in the day and more stolen items were located.

The two males have been charged with break and enter, theft, possession of stolen property, possession of break-in instruments and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

They will both be appearing in Bail Court later today.
