Canada Post has confirmed its retail outlet located within Canadian Tire will close March 9.

The closure comes at the request of the dealer.

Full services will be available to customers until the closure date.

“We are looking for a replacement postal outlet in the area,” wrote Valerie Chartrand of Canada Post media relations in an email to SooToday.

“Starting March 10, customers who have postal boxes at the McNabb Street location can pick up their mail at the Sault Ste. Marie Post Office, 451 Queen Street East. If customers do not wish to have their postal box at the new location, they can get a refund for the remainder of their rental period until March 9,” Chartrand wrote.

A full range of postal products and services is still available at four other Sault locations, including 451 Queen Street East, HiWay Variety Outfitters at 25 Trunk Rd Unit 1, Station Mall I.D.A. Drug Mart and at Stamping Grounds within Market Mall at 275 Second Line West.
