Burglars make big haul of handguns on Metzger Street

Nine handguns and two rifles were taken from a home in the 700 block of Metzger Street, City Police disclosed this morning.

The handguns include three Smith & Wesson .22 revolvers, one Smith & Wesson .38 special revolver, one Colt 9 mm, one Smith & Wesson .357 mag revolver, one Smith & Wesson .32 mag revolver, and one Smith & Wesson 9 mm revolver.

Both of the rifles are Remington bolt actions, one a .280 caliber and the other a .7 mm caliber.

Total value of the eleven stolen firearms is more than $5,000.

If you know where the stolen guns are or who took them, City Police want to hear from you.

Other break-ins reported today:

- a home in the 100 block of Maki Road was entered, with a quantity of jewellery taken.

- jewellery, a stereo and a game cube were taken from a home in the 100 block of Gladstone

- a home was entered in the 700 block of Wellington Street East but nothing was taken
